  1. Which i5 model
    • There are different i5 variants (e.g. i5-1135G7, i5-1145G7). The performance (clock speeds, integrated GPU) will differ.
    • The integrated graphics (Iris Xe) performance will be better if dual-channel RAM is used.
  2. Touch Panel presence & specs
    • The touch screen is an optional variant. A non-touch FHD IPS panel is likely the default.
    • The touch panel may add a bit of cost, affect reflectivity, and potentially slightly reduce battery life.
  3. RAM (8 GB) — Single channel vs Dual channel
    • If the 8 GB configuration is a single 8 GB stick, it will run in single-channel mode, which reduces memory bandwidth. This can especially impact the integrated GPU (Iris Xe). For better performance, two matched modules (e.g. 2×4 GB or 2×8 GB) is preferable.
    • Since there are two SODIMM slots, upgrading later is quite feasible.
  4. SSD / Storage interface & speed
    • Ensure that the SSD is NVMe and not SATA (for best performance).
    • Also check whether the SSD is in M.2 2280, 2242, and whether the slot supports PCIe x4.
    • Some spec sheets mention capacities up to 1 TB or more depending on variant.
  5. Cooling / thermal behavior
    • Under load, expect the CPU and iGPU to be thermally constrained; performance may be throttled if cooling is marginal.
  6. Battery life
    • With touch + power usage, battery life may be modest (~4–7 hours depending on use). Don’t expect ultra long life under heavy use.
  7. Weight & portability
    • At ~1.6 kg, it’s decently portable, but not ultrabook light.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths:

  • Good upgradeability (RAM, SSD)
  • Robust port selection (lots of IO)
  • Business features & durability typical of ThinkPad line
  • Decent performance for office / productivity / light creative tasks
