Strengths & Limitations

Strengths:

  • Very portable and lightweight, good for travel / carrying around.
  • Decent battery life for light usage (web, documents, streaming).
  • Fast storage (SSD) helps with boot times, app launches etc.
  • macOS support is fairly good; still functional for everyday tasks in 2025 if condition is okay.

Limitations:

  • Display resolution (1440×900) is not very high by modern standards, especially for design work, detailed image/video editing etc.
  • 8 GB RAM is fixed; multitasking with many tabs or demanding apps can feel slow.
  • CPU is older (5th‑gen) and dual‑core, so will struggle with very heavy workloads, new games, or editing high‑res video.
  • Port selection is limited (no USB‑C, no modern ports), and being older hardware, battery degradation is something to watch.
  • macOS version support will eventually end; some new features or security updates may be limited as time goes on.
