🔍 What It Is & Purpose
The adapter adds wireless Bluetooth audio streaming to compatible Bose Wave systems (Wave Radio, Wave Music System, Acoustic Wave) so you can stream music from a phone, tablet, or computer.
It plugs into the Bose Link port (a proprietary 9‑pin jack) on the back of the Bose unit.
Up to 6 Bluetooth devices can be paired (stored in memory) for quicker switching later.
Wireless range is about 30 feet / ~9 meters under typical conditions.
Basic music controls (play/pause, next, previous) can often be controlled via the Bose system’s remote (depending on model) once Bluetooth is active.
🔧 Setup & Compatibility
For many Bose Wave / Wave Radio models, you connect the adapter to the Bose Link jack, then put the Bose unit into “AUX / Bluetooth” mode (often via pressing the AUX button on the remote until “BLUETOOTH” shows).
On older units (manufactured before certain dates), you might need to connect a power supply to the adapter.
Bose recommends leaving about 2 inches (5 cm) between the adapter and the left side of the Bose unit (when facing it) to reduce AM radio interference.
Some Wave systems require a firmware update to support Bluetooth adapter functionality. If your system’s firmware is outdated, the adapter might not be recognized. \
